Full Time Job Vs Freelancing as Career !! What is Best Decision ?

Hi, friends!!
So the topic I have taken for today’s blog might sound an easy topic to talk about but actually, it is not. Today I’ll talk about freelancing vs. full-time job. Earlier people used to think that nine to five job is the best career option to choose, but nowadays people have changed a lot in terms of their career options. Nowadays people want to be more liberal & independent at their workplaces. They do not want to follow their boss’s order they want to have their own staff whom they can give orders, but do you really think that all of this are as simple? Actually making a choice between freelancing & a full-time job is totally depends on person to person. It is not necessary that if a person wants to set his/her career as a freelancer he/she has the potential to do so & vice versa if someone is doing a full-time job or wants to opt full-time job as a career, again it is not necessary that he/she does not have the talent to become a freelancer. So in this blog, I am just going to make the comparison between two of these career options & then you decide which is going to be your career preference.
If I talk about freelancing what are the things come first into our mind comfort zone, liberty, flexible work pattern etc: so let’s know some of the pros & cons of the freelancing first.

PROS & CONS OF FREELANCING:
  • FEASIBILITY:
As a freelancer, you get more feasibility in your working hours & working environment. You can adjust your working hours as per your convenience. You can make your own choices in choosing your projects & assignments what your heart allows you to do. You can also easily maintain your social & family life along with your work.
 2) DECISION MAKING:
When you start freelancing the person you will find who takes strong & big decisions for your business is only you. You will be your own boss. It is kind of a good thing & a bad thing at the same time being your own boss will make the things very difficult to take any strong decision because, you know whether that decision is right or wrong no one is going to guide you for that. Not having a boss or a senior authority also means that you do not have anyone who can push you further & measure your progress but the best part is you are not accountable to anyone.

3) YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE WHO HAS TO ENDORSE YOURSELF:
At the initial stage of your freelancing, you need to market or promote yourself wherever you go, in parties, functions between your family members & friends to everyone you need to talk about what you are offering. Some people may like it some may not but you have to do this & if you are a silent kind of a person then it is going to be a little tough job for you.
4) DOWNFALL:
In any sort of business, there must be a time when your business has to face a downfall phase. This phase is very difficult for everyone to go through, but in a way, this phase of your business will make you stronger & will push you to think out of the box to make a great comeback in the business with new & improved ideas.

5) EARNINGS & TAXES:
As a freelancer you know that whatever hard work you will put into your business it will come back to you as your earnings which also works as a kind of a motivation for you because the more hard work you do the more money you will earn & even you can take care of all the taxes which you need to pay by yourself. No doubt in business you always have a huge risk for the money which you have invested in but then business is all about taking risk am I right?

PROS & CONS OF FULL-TIME JOB:
  • FEASIBILITY:
Like freelancing, full-time job employ does not get the feasibility in their working hours & working environment. They have to follow the stander nine to five working hours & even sometimes they have to do overtime, due to this they neither can pay attention to their families nor they can enjoy their social life but on the other hand they have their paid leaves which is not possible in freelancing if you take leave in freelancing somehow it will definitely affect your business. In salary jobs, you are not supposed to make your own choices for your projects & assignment you have to work on whatever you are asked for.

  • FREE FROM DOWNFALLS:
As a full time employ you are free from all the ups & downs & hard time of the business. You just need to complete your projects & assignments & your salary will be sent to you at the end of the month & even if you are a government employ you will also be benefited with the pension facility. No investments risks.
  • HEALTH INSURENCE POLICIES:
If you are a full-time job employ you don’t need to worry about your health insurance all of these will be taken care by under your company’s policies but in freelancing you have to manage all of these on your own which is quite difficult initially.

  • EARNINGS & TAXES:
In terms of paying taxes full-time job & freelancing both have their own benefits in a way, it’s up to you which one you rather prefer. If you are a full-time employ you will get your salary after deducting all the taxes so there is nothing much left for you to take care of. In terms of earning there is a drawback with full-time job employ that you have a fixed salary & it will only increase after a certain period of a time & that too in a quite limited way whether you work more than your fixed hours. In some companies, they have some incentive programs but not every company have such programs.

 MY WORDS ON THIS:
I’ve tried to cover maximum points as I can & made an easy comparison for you between both of these career options. Now you decide which is going to be your favorite career option.

YOUTUBE GO App ! Preview , Download & Share Video

Hi, friends!
So as we all know Google has launched a new YouTube app YouTube Go which is an android app & only designed for India. It is basically designed for users to save data while watching & sharing videos. According to the YouTube blog, people in India love watching videos on YouTube but the slow Internet connection & less powerful mobile are making their experience very bad. Finally, they decide to find out a solution for this & they came up with this brand new YouTube Go (an offline app) which is faster, more relevant & more affordable with new features such as:
  • THE PREVIEW FEATURE: In this preview feature it will display the thumbnail from different parts of the video this will give you an idea regarding the content of the video before you play it so that you can easily decide whether you want to watch it or not and showing the size of the video in the preview will let you know that how much data going to be used in that particular video whether you are saving or streaming that video.

  • THE OFFLINE FEATURE: you can easily share the video with your dear once offline & this is definitely going to be a fun part but the only condition is the other person should also have the same app on their phone.

  • RESOLUTION OPTION FEATURE: Before playing the video you can even choose the resolution when saving & streaming the video and can easily make the choice that how much data you would like to spend on that video.

  • BROADER RECOMMENDATION OPTION FEATURE: According to YouTube you will get the recommendation of the videos not only on the basis of your watched history but on what people are watching in your own locality as well.
So these are some amazing features of YouTube Go app. This app was launched at Google event in Delhi, Google CEO, Sundar Pichai said “I had the chance to see the progress of digital India when I met Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi and I outlined our goals of bringing more people online especially in India, have worked hard to make this a reality. Moreover, we learned the issues Indians may have with connectivity and data constraints can be universal” this shows a clear intention from the CEO of Google that they will introduce every corner of India to the internet world.
Having said that with all amazing features from a viewer’s perspective this app has some disadvantages from a creator’s perspective as well such as:
  • OFFLINE FEATURE: It’s offline feature can affect the creator’s revenue. It is pretty obvious that if people start saving the videos & watch it offline it will definitely decrease the view count of the videos due to which it will generate very less revenue same thing goes with it’s offline video sharing feature at present people share videos online which makes videos viral which generates revenue for creators so all of this will get affected with this offline feature.

  • CHANNEL VIEW, LIKE,COMMENT,SUBSCRIBE AND ANNOTATIONS ARE DISABLED IN THIS APP: In this YouTube Go app viewers cannot open any channel they can only watch their selected videos which is definitely a big drawback for a creator because people want everything very handy & easy and in this competitive world people have many options to explore so it is going to be bit difficult for a creator to take a viewer to their channel & make them watch their other videos which will also affect the subscriber count of a particular channel. There is no like, subscribe, comment & annotation option for viewers on videos in this app which is definitely not good for any channel or a YouTuber.

MY WORDS ON IT
No doubt this is a great step taken by YouTube & Google for Indian viewers and Indian business world and I am quite sure that Indian people are going to enjoy this experience but on the other hand this step will definitely affect the YouTuber’s community as well but how much will it affect and how YouTube will deal with it, is a big question & we have to wait & watch for the answer.

YouTube as a Career – Pros & Cons

Youtube as a Career Option
Hi, friends!
So in this blog, I would like to discuss a topic which I have already been discussing many times in my videos on my YouTube channel. Nowadays as internet & 4G facilities are growing so faster YouTube is also started gaining popularity around the world & it will keep on growing in future as well. Do you know? There are millions of people who start their YouTube channel every year & most of them do not belong to the well-off families most of them are financially weak.
So in this particular blog, I will put my opinion on the advantages & disadvantages (good or bad) of YouTube as a career option based on my experience.
ADVANTAGES:
  • YOU CAN FOLLOW YOUR PASSION:
If you are in a job most of us do not get the chance to work in that particular area for which we are passionate about hence we do not get the job satisfaction but YouTube is a place where you can present your talent for which you are passionate about & get paid off for that.
  • NO NEED OF ANY PROFESSIONAL & EDUCATIONAL DEGREE:
To become a successful YouTuber it’s not necessary to have a professional or an educational degree, you just need to be a master in a particular topic or an area you need to have a full command on your topic so that you can provide good, knowledgeable & reliable information to your viewers.
  • YOU CAN START IT FROM ANYWHERE:
If you want to set up any business you need to have a proper place or an office for that, if you are in certain kind of a job then also you need to go to different office places but according to me the best part to opt YouTube as a career option is you can start it from anywhere anytime even you can start it from your home itself initially no workplaces are required.

  • NO WORK PRESSURE
One of the best parts choosing YouTube as a career option is you will work without any pressure. If you have any business or you do certain kind of job you cannot take leave easily either your salary will be deducted or if you have any business you will lose your customer & income will also get affected.
  • NO TIME BOUNDATION:
Like any other working hours or business timing there is no as such time boundation in Youtubing you can upload your videos whenever you get time or you feel comfortable even you can upload your videos at night as well.
  • ANYONE CAN START THERE CHANNEL:
There are no qualification or age restrictions required to start a YouTube channel. You can start your YouTube channel at any point of your age whether you are 18 or 80 or you are a housewife or a professional person you just need to have full command on your topic.
  • BENEFICIAL FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITY:
I can see YouTube as a great opportunity for people with disability. I personally know a girl who has done her fashion designing from India’s top fashion institute
(NIFT ) NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF FASHION TECHNOLOGY but she did not get any job opportunity from any company due to her disability. Despite her talent companies refused to hire her because according to them they could not provide her that disability friendly infrastructure. After a long struggling period of time, she found me on YouTube & asked me to guide her to start her YouTube channel & finally she decided to go with this option & now she is running her channel without sharing her disability with her viewers & subscribers & her disability is not a barrier in her career anymore. So this incident turned my mind to think that YouTube can be a great career option for people with disabilities.

DISADVANTAGES:
  • FAMILY & SOCIAL EXCEPTANCE:
Initially, it is very difficult to convince your family & society that you are opting YouTube as a career option, especially in India because of the less awareness about YouTube.
  • TIME TAKING PROCESS:
To establish a YouTube channel is not a one day process it can take 6 months or a year to run a successful YouTube channel. But yes exceptions are there.
  • INVESTMENT & TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE:
Most of the people who start their YouTube channel they do not belong to the well-off families so it is very difficult for them to purchase all the necessary equipments for making a good quality video. When people start their channel due to the lack of technical, SEO & community guideline knowledge most of them could not continue with it, they just stop uploading videos at the initial stage itself.
  • COPYING OF IDEAS:
According to me one of the biggest drawbacks is copying of ideas. On youtube, anyone can easily copy anyone’s original idea & make videos on it & can get more views.
  • FAKE TRICKS:
To gain views & subscribers people apply so many fake tricks which are very difficult for YouTube to catch until & unless anyone reports that particular channel & due to these fake tricks people also start losing their faith on such videos.

MY WORDS ON IT:
Like any other career options, YouTube also has some advantages & disadvantages but I would definitely recommend people to choose YouTube as a career option because this will also encourage the entrepreneurship in India & I want to see Indian YouTubers in the top YouTuber’s list in upcoming years.
